Fisaha Tesfay
Dr Fisaha Tesfay is a Research Fellow at the Australian Centre for Cancer Equity (AcCE), Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research, where he works to advance equity, diversity, and inclusion in cancer research and clinical trials. His research focuses on improving access to and participation in cancer research among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities, and rural and regional populations through implementation science, community engagement, and co-design approaches. Dr Tesfay completed his PhD in Public Health at Flinders University and has previously held research positions at Deakin University and La Trobe University. He has expertise in health services research, implementation science, qualitative and mixed-methods research, and research evaluation. He has published more than 60 peer-reviewed articles, including in The Lancet, BMJ Global Health, BMJ Open, BMC Public Health, PLOS ONE, and Global Health Action, and has contributed to the Global Burden of Disease Study. Passionate about translating research into practice, he is committed to developing inclusive and culturally responsive research that reduces inequities in cancer care and improves health outcomes for underrepresented populations.
