Jared Tang
Jared is a third-year medical student at the University of Notre Dame Australia with a strong commitment to patient-centred care and a developing interest in malignant disease, shaped by personal family experiences with multiple myeloma and metastatic bowel cancer. His clinical aspirations lie in broadly in surgical-oncology and research on improving access to high-quality care for rural communities.
Alongside his medical studies, Jared serves as an Infantry Officer in the Australian Defence Force Reserves, reflecting his dedication to leadership, discipline, and public service. He completed his schooling in Singapore, where he was recognised on the Principal’s Honours Roll and held senior leadership roles. Jared went on to graduate with distinction from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Science (Medical Science), later working in Health and Human Services consulting at Ernst & Young.
During medical school, he earned consecutive Dean’s Letters of Commendation (2024, 2025) and contributed to medical education by authoring articles for TeachMeAnatomy. Jared brings to his clinical training a blend of academic excellence, service-focused leadership, and a deep commitment to improving healthcare outcomes.
