Jennifer Donnelly
Jennifer Donnelly is a Senior Lecturer in the Master of Dietetics program within the Department of Allied Health at Swinburne University of Technology. She is an Accredited Practising Dietitian with extensive experience across clinical and private practice dietetics, and a Medical Laboratory Scientist with more than 20 years of experience in diagnostic and research settings in Australia and the United Kingdom. Jennifer is nearing submission of her doctiral thesis, which investigates workforce development in private practice dietetics in Australia.
Jennifer is passionate about translating and integrating her research into learning, teaching and practice development within tertiary education, with a particular focus on strengthening the readiness and competency of graduate-entry private practice dietitians. She has a strong interest in the innovative use of digital technologies, including artificial intelligence, to enhance learning and teaching experiences and better prepare future dietitians for contemporary professional practice.
Jennifer also holds an honorary appointment in the Department of Cardiothoracics and Surgical Oncology at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. Her research is underpinned by a strong commitment to patient-centred care, with a particular focus on bringing the lived experiences of people with health conditions to the forefront of research and translation activities.
