The Cancer Institute NSW monitors clinical trial participation across NSW and delivers statewide initiatives to improve clinical trial availability, awareness, access and collaboration.
Aim
To describe findings from an evaluation of statewide initiatives delivered between 2022 and 2024 that support clinical trial participation, awareness, access and collaboration across NSW.
Methods
Underpinned by a program logic model, a mixed-methods evaluation was conducted to assess the implementation and early effectiveness of statewide initiatives designed to improve clinical trial availability, participation, awareness, access and collaboration.
Results
Conclusion
This evaluation highlights the Cancer Institute NSW's statewide approach to monitoring participation, identifying access gaps and implementing initiatives. Findings demonstrate the reach and uptake of consumer information, primary care engagement and workforce education activities designed to support clinical trial recruitment and participation across NSW.
