Background:
Health professionals require rapid access to up-to-date, reliable clinical information to safely deliver increasingly complex systemic therapies and supportive care. Unlike traditional eLearning/web-based resources, social media delivers brief, repeatable educational content to support knowledge retention, clinical confidence, and awareness of emerging evidence. Leveraging platforms clinicians routinely engage with allows content to be disseminated rapidly and at scale, in ways that extend beyond the capacity of traditional eLearning channels.
In response, eviQ launched dedicated Instagram and Facebook channels in February 2025 to test social-media-based microlearning as an adjunct to existing resources.
Aim:
To evaluate the reach, engagement, content types,early impact of eviQ’s social media channels, and identify opportunities to optimise social media–based microlearning for the oncology workforce.
Design:
A descriptive evaluation was undertaken using platform analytics. Metrics included posting frequency, impressions, reach, engagements, follower growth, demographic data, and content performance across platforms.
Results:
Between February 2025 -July 2026, 526 posts were published, majority (66%) shared on Instagram. Audience demographics showed 80% of followers identifying as female, majority between 35-44 years. The channels reached more than 167,000 users and generated over 276,000 impressions and 6,100 engagements, including 464 shares and 206 saves. The channels attracted more than 2,494 followers, with approximately 800 acquired on launch day. Engagement increased steadily over time, with video content performing 28 per cent better than static microlearning.
Conclusion:
eviQ social media has demonstrated strong adoption, meaningful engagement and feasibility as a platform for clinical microlearning. The introduction of short-form video content ‘Rapid Reels’ in 2026 further strengthened this approach. These findings suggest clinicians increasingly prefer accessible, visual and practice-focused learning formats, suited to social media. Future evaluation will focus on understanding user experiences, the application of learning in clinical practice, and whether social media-based microlearning can contribute to measurable changes in clinician knowledge and practice.
